Tales Of Urban Stories And The Bible

The Holy bible and urban stories are 2 totally different things, nearly at opposite ends of the spectrum. They are like water and oil. And the only method you could get at peace with one of them is if you totally denounce the presence of the other.

The Bible is the holiest book on Earth--at the very least, regarded holiest by the majority of Christian believers. It contains the word of God, exactly what was done in the past leading Christianity for being what it is today, and what must be done in the future so we might earn our right to go into the kingdom of the Lord. The Christian religion is profoundly grounded in the Bible.

Urban stories, however, are stories that have absolutely no basis no matter from which perspective you look at it. Urban tales are just that - tales. But some if not a number of Christian believers choose to believe in urban tales than the Holy bible. Why is that? Because urban stories are exciting. They provoke the curiosity and feed it until it starts to distort our personal perception of things around us. No one is immune from this poison: a persons imagination is a inquisitive thing. Christians are especially vulnerable considering their beliefs rely on faith in God's good intentions.

What exactly are a few examples of urban tales that are headed directly into a collision course with the Great Quotes in the Bible? Let's find out.

Urban legend: The Garden of Eden in the Bible was in Iraq.

Validity: False. It was not mentioned anywhere in the Holy bible where the Garden of Eden was. All it said was that it's "in the East". That's all. Sure, Iraq is in the Middle East, however the description from the Holy bible is still subjective based from where you're looking at. Arabia is east of Israel and so is China.

Urban legend: Noah's ark was built in Iraq.

Validity: False. No-one knows where Noah constructed his famous ark except perhaps... Noah. It was never mentioned in the Bible where Noah's ark was built. This particular urban tale is pure conjecture.

Urban legend: Jacob and Rachel met in Iraq.

Validity: False. The Bible said Jacob travelled to Paddam-aram, a territory of Aram. Aram is an area around Haran which can be located along southern parts of Turkey and north of Syria. According to the Holy bible, Rachel's father resided in Paddam-aram and is an Aramean. These locations are very far from modern-day Iraq.

Urban legend: Amos cried in Iraq.

Validity: False, again. The Holy bible never ever stated that Amos visited a place even anywhere near Iraq. He frequented Israel and Judah however it was never pointed out in the Bible that he visited any place else. Amos cried out somewhere in north Israel, extremely far from Iraq as the urban legend claims.

It's clear urban legends pretty much does nothing other than to put a wrong idea in your head. But only if you let it. Before believing in an urban legend, consult the Great Quotes in the Bible first as it is the only true reference of anything related to the Christian faith.
